Beginners guide to buying a new tablet
Buying a tablet can be confusing if you’re not a tech user or a huge fan of gadgets and technology. If you’ve never used a tablet before, you might not know what to look for. Buying a tablet can help you take notes, run games, and improve general productivity. Plus, they’re the ultimate definition of portability. If you’ve always wanted to buy a tablet but didn’t know how to go about shopping for one, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s how you buy a tablet or know what to look for when going tablet shopping.
Storage Capacity
If a tablet says its internal storage is 8 GB, it can mean 3 GB is dedicated to the OS and 5 GB is available for use for users.
Operating System
Whether it’s Windows, Mac, or Android, you need to choose the OS of your tablet. Depending on the OS you choose, your tablet buying decision will be affected. Windows tablets don’t offer much other than cross compatibility with their laptop and desktop counterparts in terms of apps.
The Camera
Everybody likes taking photos and a good camera on your tablet will help with this. Most tablets aren’t suited for quality photography, but some tablets are equipped with the right technology. 23 MP cameras on tablets are a good start. Look for front and rear cameras and see the megapixel rate they offer. Besides just taking into considering the pixel per inch index or MP rate, see what other features the camera offers. This includes the ability to be able to shoot in different lighting conditions. See if the camera comes with a flash feature and lets you take photos in the dark.
WiFi  Or 3G
3G tablets are great if you’re planning on using a SIM card and intend to use your tablet to surf the web when traveling. However, it can be a waste of money since you can turn your cellular 3G network into a hot spot and let your tablet access that as WiFi on the go. 3G tablets come with a SIM card slot and these are generally more expensive than your usual tablets. The best choice is to go with tablets that support WiFi use. All you need is a hot spot to access WiFi, which you can do with your phone.
