Zooming through highways in a super-fast sports car is among the most thrilling experiences. And when it comes to sports cars, it’s no secret that Chevrolet Corvette is a go-to choice. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Corvette, the automaker has launched two new models: Corvette Stingray and the upcoming, high-performance Corvette Z06.

Engine and performance
The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is the most powerful Stingray to date. Powered by a 6.2L LT2 V8 engine, it delivers 495 horsepower and 470 lb. ft. of torque and can reach the top speed of 194 mph. It impresses almost any driver with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Like the Stingray, the newest Z06 beats every previous model in the line-up. It’s equipped with the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 engine in production that outputs 670 horsepower. The engine is hand-built and has an all-new flat plane architecture that gives it a signature growl—probably the most exciting part of driving the Corvette. Notably, the engine hits 8,600 rpm (revolutions per minute), which is 2,000 rpm higher than the Stingray and can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.

Exterior and interior
The all-new Corvette Stingray comes in two unique exterior colors and 13 interior color options. It has a ceramic white leather interior with red stitching and a red seat belt.

The car comprises a 20-spoke design of carbon flash-painted forged aluminum wheels with a red stripe and Chevrolet’s 70th Anniversary logo on several areas, including wheels, seats, and sill plates. You can expect to see the same or similar branding and color options for the Corvette Z06. One of the most striking design characteristics of the Corvette Z06 is that it has wider fenders, quarter panels, and fascias than the Stingray. Moreover, it’s built using replaceable spoiler wicker bills, rear brake cooling ducts, removable front fascia panel, and front underwing stall gurneys, making it more attractive and a better overall performer than the Stingray.

Safety and driver-assistance features
The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has several functional safety and driver-assistance features. Some standard ones on the base model include active handling stability with traction control, an airbag system, HD rear vision camera, OnStar® and Chevrolet Connected Services, and rear park assist. Higher trims have additional features, such as HD front cameras, rear cross-traffic alert, and side blind zone alert. Car experts believe we will see all these features, and possibly more, on the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Infotainment
The automaker offers multiple infotainment features on both the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06 to ensure you enjoy every ride. The latest Stingray is fitted with a 12-inch diagonal reconfigurable digital instrument display, wireless mobile device charging capability, and Bose Performance Series 14-speaker audio system. There’s also an available performance data recorder, which can record HD videos and parameters like acceleration, speed, break usage, sound, and more to give drivers an in-depth understanding of on-track performance and ways to improve.

Cost
The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06 are available as a coupe as well as a convertible. All features are the same in both car types, except that convertibles have a retractable roof. Both models come in a total of six variants each: three coupes and three convertibles. The base trim (1LT Coupe) of the Corvette Stingray coupe starts at $64,200, and the basic convertible (1LT Convertible) starts at $71,700. While the Corvette Z06 isn’t on the market yet, Chevrolet has revealed its pricing. The Corvette Z06 1LZ Coupe, which is the base trim, begins at $105,000, and the Corvette Z06 1LZ Convertible starts at $112,500.
